Before The Dawn Heals Us (*)

194/365: Before the dawn heals us

Before the dawn heals us,
let the night fog embrace
and freeze us to death…

Through the wind we crawl
It blows the candle
and throws us to the dark of disease
Let the spirits fade away
between the tombs of angels and purple light
that blinds the defeaned moon…

I’ll wait ‘til the sun kisses and sings the magical spell
to turn you out into a golden boy with harp in the left hand
And when the day comes, I will stop hiding behind this tired moonlight
to hold you again in sunrise…

It seems like we’ll never sleep at all
But it’s okay because we just wanna be alone,
we don’t wanna be lonely…

(*) This poem’s title (“Before The Dawn Heals Us”) is taken from The Radio Dept.’s album title (2003).
